NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they expect to welcome their three millionth fan this weekend.
The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
South Carolina had its largest crowd since 1998 when 10,112 watched the home opener on Oct. 21 to leave the team less than 10,000 fans away from three million. The Stingrays are expecting the record fan in the next three days as they host Gwinnett on Friday and Sunday and Augusta on Saturday.
The lucky fan will receive a complimentary trip to Kissimmee, Fla. courtesy of Celebration World Resort.
