STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL “Award of Excellence,” announced “Fan Appreciation Night” has been scheduled at Stockton Arena for the final two home games of the regular season, when the Thunder host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Sunday, March 27 at 4 p.m. and face the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m.
An annual event to salute Thunder fans for their loyalty in the sixth season of hockey in the Central Valley, the two games offer all fans in attendance a rare opportunity to take home prizes not offered for any other home game and a chance to save on Thunder merchandise.
One of the most loyal fan bases of minor league hockey, Thunder fans have averaged over 6,000 in attendance per game for five consecutive seasons and currently rank second in the ECHL with an average of 6,301 fans per game this season, an increase of five percent in 2010-11. There have been 16 sellouts in Thunder history and ten crowds of 7,000 or more at Stockton Arena this season.
During both games, all fans in attendance are invited to pick up exclusive Thunder merchandise available at discounted prices.
Prizes will be awarded throughout both games, including exclusive autographed team-themed “Sons of Thunder” and San Jose Sharks memorabilia, a flat screen HD television and a two-night stay, travel package to the Handerly Hotel in San Francisco. Fans can enter for free by submitting prize a prize form, given out at the door, to the Thunder Community Corner or Information Booths.
