Stockton’s O’Connell Receives PHPA InterContinental Hotels Group Ironman Award

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario – The Professional Hockey Players’ Association announced that Stockton Thunder defenseman Tim O’Connell has been selected as the ECHL recipient of the InterContinental Hotel Groups Ironman Award for 2006-07.

The Ironman Award is presented annually to one PHPA member playing in the ECHL and one PHPA member playing in the American Hockey League, who has participated in all of his club’s regular season games while contributing both offensively and defensively.

O’Connell had 32 points (10g-22a) with 126 penalty minutes and a plus-minus rating of +22 in 72 regular season games and he also played in all six of the Thunder’s games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
