TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that they have traded center Ty Hennes to Bakersfield in exchange for the rights to forward Steve Slonina. The Storm also announced that forward Nick Parillo has been recalled by Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. Toledo is the ECHL affiliate of Grand Rapids of the AHL and Detroit of the National Hockey League.
It is the second recall of the season for Parillo, who played in Grand Rapids 2-1 win over Utah on December 4. In his fourth professional season, Parillo has played in the AHL with Grand Rapids, Rochester, Milwaukee, Cincinnati and San Antonio, scoring three points (2g-1a) in 18 career games. Parillo leads Toledo with 14 assists and is second on the team with 17 points in 19 games.
In his first professional season in 2003-04, the 23-year-old Slonina scored 37 points (20g-17a) in 69 regular season games and four points (1g-3a) in 13 Kelly Cup Playoff games, helping Gwinnett advance to the Western Conference Finals.
In his first professional season, Hennes has scored eight points (3g-5a) in 20 games for Toledo.
