TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that defenseman P.J. Martin has signed a player tryout agreement with the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.
The 24-year-old was +2 and had one shot in Lowell’s 7-6 win at Portland on Saturday.
The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound Martin, who participated in training camp with both Nashville of the NHL and Milwaukee of the AHL, is tied for fifth among ECHL defensemen with four goals and is tied for eighth in scoring with 12 points. Martin has a nine-game scoring streak (4g-7a) and he is fourth on the Storm in scoring and tied for fourth in assists.
Martin had 26 points (7g-19a) in 66 regular season games and also appeared in four Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Storm in 2004-05 and also played in the AHL, registering one assist in four games with Milwaukee and playing one game with Worcester.
