Syracuse Signs Former ECHL Goaltender Munro

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed former ECHL goaltender Adam Munro.

The American Conference champion Dayton Bombers are the ECHL affiliate of the Crunch of the AHL and the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League.

The 24 year old played as a rookie in the ECHL in 2003-04 and was 4-1-1 with a goals-against average of 2.76 in six games for Gwinnett and he returned in 2004-05 and was 2-2-1 with a goals-against average of 1.99 and a save percentage of .937 in five games with Atlantic City.

Selected in the first round (29th overall) by Chicago in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Munro is 3-5-2 with a 3.30 goals-against average and one shutout in 17 games in the NHL with the Blackhawks.

Munro, who played in Switzerland in 2006-07 appearing in 41 games for Fribourg-Gotteron, is 36-22-4 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.54 and a save percentage of .906 in 70 games for Norfolk in the AHL.
