T.J. Syner joins Grizzlies

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has signed forward T.J. Syner for the 2014-15 season.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League’s Norfolk Admirals.

Syner has split the last two seasons between the Reading Royals, where he won a Kelly Cup with Branham in 2013, and the AHL’s Hershey Bears. He totaled 63 points (28g-35a) in 72 games with Reading and had eight points (3g-5a) in 48 games with the Bears. Syner joins his cousin, Barry Almeida, on this year’s Grizzlies team.

The Springfield, Mass. native played four years of college at University of Massachusetts-Amhurst where he was a member of the Hockey East All-Academic team. During his senior season, he totaled 37 points (13g-24a) in 36 games, and for his career he had 97 points (37g-60a) in 135 games with the Minutemen.
