JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League have reassigned rookie right wing Stanislav Lascek and rookie left wing Radek Smolenak to Springfield of the American Hockey League. The Chiefs also announced that rookie defenseman P.J. Atherton has been recalled to Springfield.
The Chiefs are the ECHL affiliate of the Lightning of the NHL and the Falcons of the AHL.
Selected in the third round (73rd overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Lightning, the 20-year-old Smolenak has 25 points (13g-12a) and 33 penalty minutes in 32 games with Johnstown and two penalty minutes in 14 games with Springfield.
Selected in the fifth round (133rd overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Lightning, the 21-year-old Lascek has 27 points (12g-15a) and 26 penalty minutes in 25 games with Johnstown and four points (2g-2a) and 12 penalty minutes in 26 games with Springfield.
Selected in the sixth round (170th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and under AHL contract to Springfield, the 24-year-old Atherton has 26 points (4g-22a) and 46 penalty minutes in 49 games with Johnstown.
