Team captain Quick returns to Stingrays

North Charleston, S.C. – The
South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced that the team has re-signed defenseman Kevin Quick.

Quick, 25, registered career-highs in games (64), goals (3) and points (17) with the Stingrays last season and was named the ninth captain in team history on Feb. 11, 2013. The Buffalo, N.Y. native also skated three games in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Rockford IceHogs adding no points.

In 116 career ECHL contests with the Augusta Lynx, Florida Everblades and the Stingrays, Quick totaled 33 points (5g-28a) and helped the Everblades capture the Kelly Cup championship in 2012. A third-round selection (78th overall) of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft, the 6-foot, 181-pound defenseman appeared in 173 games over three seasons with their AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, netting 34 points (1g-33a). On Jan. 13, 2009, Quick made his NHL debut with the Lightning and skated in six total games earning one assist.
