BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that they have signed an affiliation agreement with the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League and the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
“The Wildcatters had a great season last year and we were very happy with the progress of our players there,” said Tom Lynn, who is Minnesota’s assistant general manager for hockey operations as well as general manager of the Aeros. “We look forward to continuing and growing our relationship, and our commitment to hockey in the great state of Texas.”
The Wildcatters were the ECHL affiliate of Houston last season and received nine players from the Aeros, including rookie defensemen Paul Albers and Mike Madill, who were both voted to participate in the ECHL All-Star Game. Albers was also named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and finished second in voting for CCM Tacks ECHL Rookie of the Year.
