PRINCETON, N.J. – Texas forward John Snowden is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for April 4-9. He is the second Wildcatter to receive the honor in 2004-05, joining Andrew Ianiero, who was In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for November 15-21.
The 23-year-old Snowden, who was runner up for Player of the Week on April 5, had seven points (5g-2a) in three games including five points (3g-2a) in a 7-3 win against Louisiana on April 8. It was the second time in four games that Snowden scored five points and it was the third hat trick in his last 13 games. He closed out the season with two goals in a 5-3 loss at Louisiana on April 9, finishing with 12 points (9g-3a) in his last five games.
Snowden led the Wildcatters with 37 goals, 18 power-play goals and 62 points and was second on the team with 25 assists in 71 games. In his first professional season with Texas in 2003-04, Snowden played in the ECHL All-Star Game and scored 43 points (22g-21a) in 72 games, tying for the team lead in goals and finishing second in scoring.
