Second Chance In Stockton

The last person that forward Brett Hemingway thought would offer him a mulligan was Stockton head coach Matt Thomas.

Thomas, after all, was the coach of Fresno who traded Hemingway away from that team two years ago. But there Thomas was on the phone at the end of November, asking Hemingway if he wanted to leave Arizona of the CHL for a deal with the Thunder.

“When a coach has traded you in the past, it’s not a phone call you expect to get,” Hemingway said. “But we talked, talked about why he traded me, it was nothing personal. Now, we’re moving on.”
