Thrashers Recall Stoesz

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League have recalled forward Myles Stoesz, who was traded on Monday with Niclas Havelid to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Anssi Salmela.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Thrashers and the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL and Rockford and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Mike Haviland, who is one of two coaches to lead two different teams to the Kelly Cup Championship, and John Torchetti, who was a coach and player in the ECHL, are assistant coaches for the Blackhawks. The Wolves are coached by Don Granato, who led Peoria to a 45-20-5 record and the Kelly Cup championship in 1999-2000 after two seasons as head coach and general manager for Columbus. The assistant coach for the Wolves is former ECHL player and coach Jason Christie, who was the Most Valuable Player of the Kelly Cup Playoffs in 2000 and head coach of Utah from 2005-08 and Peoria from 2000-05.
