PRINCETON, N.J. – Andrew Allen of the Trenton Titans is the Sun National Bank ECHL Saver of the Month for April.
The 6-4 and 210-pound Allen was 5-1-0 with a 1.34 goals-against average and a .953 save percentage as Trenton won its last four games to secure the second seed in the North Division Semifinals. Allen began the month stopping 25 shots in a 3-2 win over division rival Wheeling on April 1. Following a 3-1 loss to Peoria on April 2, he had 23 saves in a 2-1 win at Dayton on April 5 and 32 saves in a 2-1 win against Wheeling on April 7. He made 28 saves in a 5-2 win at Johnstown on April 8 and headed into the playoffs making 28 saves for his third shutout of the season, a 3-0 win at Toledo on April 9.
Allen set a career high and ranked third in the ECHL with 30 wins, finishing 30-11-3 while ranking 11th in the league with a 2.36 goals-against average. He was second in the league in shootout percentage at 84.6 percent, stopping 22 of 26 shooters, and had a .916 save percentage in 47 games for the Titans.
