TRENTON, N.J. – The Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans announced that they have signed an affiliation agreement with the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
The Titans will remain the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL.
Trenton had an affiliation with the Islanders from 2001-03 and 13 players have appeared in games with the Sound Tigers in the Titans six-year history.
“We are happy to form this affiliation with the Trenton Titans organization,” said Islanders general manager Mike Milbury. “Not only will we be able to have our younger prospects skate with yet another quality organization, but given the proximity of our clubs, we will be able to see them on the ice often as well.”
