TRENTON, N.J. – The Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Michael Schutte.
The Titans are the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
Acquired in a trade with the Dayton Bombers in exchange for forward Mathieu Brunelle, the 26-year-old had 19 points (4g-15a) and 50 penalty minutes in 33 regular season games with Trenton. He led Titans defensemen with seven goals and had 12 points and 24 penalty minutes in 20 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound Schutte had 13 points (4g-9a) and 29 penalty minutes in 34 games with Dayton and four penalty minutes in two games with Cincinnati of the American Hockey League.
