Todd Merton is in his sixth season as Director of Marketing and Licensing for the ECHL.
He is responsible for corporate sponsorship and league-wide marketing initiatives while continuing to manage the ECHL Licensing Program consisting of more than 50 national and local licensees. Merton is also responsible for working in conjunction with the host team on the ECHL All-Star Classic and Hall of Fame ceremony as well as planning and directing the ECHL Sales, Marketing and Communications Meeting and coordinating all ECHL Board of Governors Meetings.
Merton, a native of Orangeville, Ontario, joined the ECHL with 17 years of experience in corporate sales, marketing, merchandising and game operations in professional sports. He previously spent four years in the ECHL as the Director of Corporate Sales, Merchandise and Game Operations with the South Carolina Stingrays as well as time with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League and Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. Merton got his start in sports working in baseball for both the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays.
Merton attended Southern New Hampshire University, where he received his degree in Sport Management and was a member of the varsity baseball and lacrosse teams. He resides in Pennington N.J. with his wife Kate and daughters Stela, Alex and Harlow.
