TOLEDO, Ohio – The Kelly Cup and the Stanley Cup will both be displayed this weekend as part of the Hockey Hall of Fame Weekend with the Storm.
The Kelly Cup and Stanley Cup were displayed together during the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game festivities on January 25-26, marking the sixth year in a row that the two trophies have been together at the ECHL All-Star Game.
Beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday, the Exhibition Hall of the Toledo Sports Arena will have 14 exhibits from the Hockey Hall of Fame, including some specifically on the history of hockey in Toledo.
Toledo is the second stop on the Second-Annual Kelly Cup Tour, a 51-day and 7,112-mile tour that began on February 18 in Reading and which will take the trophy awarded to the ECHL postseason champion to 12 cities in eight states. Each of the 28 ECHL cities were given the opportunity to host the Kelly Cup which on its inaugural tour in 2004 traveled 7,543 miles in 44 days while visiting 10 ECHL cities in eight states.
