PHOENIX – The Phoenix Roadrunners announced that hockey’s most prestigious trophy, the Stanley Cup, will be displayed at the America West Arena Plaza from 5-6:45 p.m. on Saturday as part of “Turn Back The Clock Night” as the Roadrunners host the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
Phoenix season ticket holders will have the privilege of a private viewing of the Stanley Cup from 3:30-5 p.m. inside the Casino Arizona Pavilion.
The RoadRunners will wear vintage sweaters from 1977-78 when they finished second to the San Francisco Shamrocks in the Pacific Hockey League. The game-worn jerseys will be available for purchase in an online auction at PhxRoadRunners.com from Dec. 1-10 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the ECHL/Salvation Army Hurricane Relief Fund.
Saturday is also the second of six “Past Great Nights” as the RoadRunners honor former International Hockey League and team broadcaster Darren Veitch. The first 2,000 fans at America West Arena will be given a coupon that they can redeem after the game for a commemorative Darren Veitch pint glass.
