Valcourt agrees to terms with Mallards

MOLINE, Ill. – The Quad City Mallards have signed forward Collin Valcourt, the Mallards announced.

The Mallards are the ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League and the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.

Valcourt, 22, scored two goals and picked up two assists in 29 games with Hradec Kralove in the Czech Extraliga last season. The Prince George, British Columbia, native saw his first professional action when he played a single American Hockey League game for the Abbotsford Heat at the end of the 2013-14 campaign.

Valcourt spent four years in the Western Hockey League before turning pro. He capped off his junior career by scoring 72 points (28g-44a) in 71 games with the Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders in 2013-14. In total, Valcourt produced 170 points (78g-92a) in 298 WHL games with the Blades, Raiders and Spokane Chiefs.
