Vallerand returns for third season in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have signed forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand for the 2012-13 Season. Vallerand will be entering his third season with the Road Warriors.

The Road Warriors are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League and the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League.

Vallerand returns to the Road Warriors after posting career highs in goals and points last season. His 30 goals were second most on the team behind Brandon Wong. Vallerand’s stellar play last season earned him a call up to the AHL. In seven games with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Rockford Ice Hogs, Vallerand tallied two assists. A native of Longueuil Quebec, Vallerand first signed with the Road Warriors in 2010, after playing four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In his first professional season, Vallerand led the Road Warriors, and all ECHL rookies, with 28 goals, and also represented Greenville at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic in Bakersfield. In Vallerand’s two seasons with the Road Warriors, he has posted 108 points (58g-50a) in 129 games.
