Victoria Acquires Defenseman Cole From Augusta

VICTORIA, British Columbia – The Victoria Salmon Kings announced that they have acquired defenseman Phil Cole from the Augusta Lynx in exchange for future considerations.

The Salmon Kings are the ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League and the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fourth round (125th overall) by the New Jersey Devils in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-4 and 197-pound Cole has one assist and six penalty minutes in two games with Augusta.

The 24-year-old had 12 points (1g-11a) and 91 penalty minutes in 48 regular season games and also played in two Kelly Cup Playoff games for Augusta in 2005-06 while also playing in the AHL where he had 20 penalty minutes in 10 games with Philadelphia.
