Victoria Signs Smith, Forster, Wade

VICTORIA, British Columbia – The Victoria Salmon Kings announced that they have signed left wing Corey Smith, defenseman Nate Forster and leading scorer Ryan Wade.

Selected in the eighth round (202nd overall) by Calgary in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, the 27-year-old Wade playing his first professional season led Victoria in 2004-05 with 19 goals, 31 assists and 50 points in 69 games.

The 5-9 and 176-pound Smith scored 15 points (2g-13a) in 32 games with the Salmon Kings in 2004-05.

Selected in the seventh round (179th overall) by Washington in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Victoria native Forster scored 16 points (5g-11a) and had 73 penalty minutes in 53 games with Victoria in 2004-05.
