Walleye acquire Cleaver, Turek

Toledo, OH – The Toledo Walleye and Head Coach Nick Vitucci announced today that forward Rick Cleaver and defenseman Ryan Turek will join the Walleye.  This completes a trade with Victoria from March 11, 2011 when Toledo sent Victoria the rights to goaltender Jimmy Spratt.

Last season with Victoria, the Port McNeill, British Columbia native scored 22 goals with 14 assists in 64 games.  The year prior, Rick scored 32 goals with 38 assists for the Kalamazoo Wings.  The 27-year-old played in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game.

Turek is a native of nearby Southfield, MI and has appeared in 148 ECHL contests over three seasons with Alaska and Victoria.  Last season, Ryan set new career-highs with 11 goals and 22 assists.  The 23-year-old played his college hockey at Michigan State University, where he appeared in 80 games over three seasons.
