TOLEDO, Ohio – Forward Emerson Clark and defenseman Garrett Clarke have agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2013-14 season.
The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings and the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and Grand Rapids Griffins.
Clark, a native of Whitby, Ontario, has skated the last four years in the Ontario Hockey League including last season with the Windsor Spitfires. In 63 games a season ago, the 20-year-old posted 18 points (7g-11a) and 131 penalty minutes. The 5’10", 185 pound forward has a total of 496 penalty minutes over the last four years, three of which we spent with the Oshawa Generals.
Clarke spent last season with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League and posted four points (1g-3a) and 223 penalty minutes in 54 games. It was the first professional season for the native of Windsor, Ontario after five seasons playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 6’0", 198 pound defenseman appeared in 203 career games in the QMJHL, scoring 124 points (27g-97a) and adding 540 penalty minutes. His best offensive year was 2011-12 when he recorded 37 points (9g-28a) in 55 games between Acadie-Bathurst and Gatineau.
