Walleye agree to terms with Krug

Toledo, Ohio – The Toledo Walleye and Head Coach Nick Vitucci announced today that defenseman Matt Krug has agreed to terms for the 2011-12 season.

 

The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs and Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

 

Krug, a native of Livonia, Mich., has appeared in 139 games since turning professional at the start of the 2009-10 season. Matt split time last season between Gwinnett and Elmira in the ECHL, before finishing the year with the Fort Wayne Komets of the CHL. The 26 year old has amassed 320 penalty minutes over his professional career. Prior to his professional career, Matt played college hockey with Wayne State and Robert Morris.
