TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Walleye announced that they have agreed to terms with center Malcolm MacMillan.
The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and Grand Rapids and Rockford of the American Hockey League. Mike Haviland, who is one of two coaches to lead two different teams to the Kelly Cup Championship, and John Torchetti, who was a coach and player in the ECHL, are assistant coaches for the Blackhawks.
The ECHL returns to Toledo following a two-year absence which allowed construction of the new state-of-the-art Lucas County Downtown Arena. The Walleye, who are projecting over 2,000 season tickets, will open the regular season on Oct. 16 when they host the Florida Everblades at the 7,500-seat facility.
