Wildcatters Acquire Martin From Columbia
Los Angeles Assigns Taylor To Texas

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that they have acquired defenseman Derick Martin (pictured) from the Columbia Inferno in exchange for forward Brendan Cook, who was acquired by Texas in an earlier trade with the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for defenseman James Sanford.

The Wildcatters also announced that goaltender Danny Taylor has been assigned to the team by the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

In his third professional season, the 25-year-old Martin has 15 points (2g-13a) and 46 penalty minutes in 57 games for Columbia. He played in 2005-06 for Texas coach Malcolm Cameron in Long Beach where he had 17 points (2g-15a) and 74 penalty minutes in 71 regular season games and three assists and six penalty minutes in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Ice Dogs.

The Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate of the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
