Wildcatters Sign Schneider

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that they have signed defenseman Andy Schneider.

The Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League and the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (156th overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 26 year old was injured and did not play in 2006-07.

The 6-foot-1 and 215-pound defenseman, who is scheduled to attend training camp with the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks, played in the ECHL as a rookie and had one assist and two penalty minutes in four games with Wheeling while also playing in the AHL where he had 16 points (3g-13a) and 54 penalty minutes in 50 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
