WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed right wing Pascal Morency.
The Wheeling Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.
In his second professional season in 2004-05, the 23-year-old Morency had 17 points (8g-9a) and led Wheeling with 252 penalty minutes in 51 games and four penalty minutes in two games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
In 2004-05 with Idaho, the 25-year-old Verbeek had 14 points (9g-5a) and 37 penalty minutes in 21 regular season games and one goal and four penalty minutes in four Kelly Cup Playoffs games. Verbeek played in the ECHL in each of his four professional seasons and has 141 points (66g-75a) and 604 penalty minutes in 226 career regular season games and 11 points (6g-5a) and 29 penalty minutes in 23 career Kelly Cup Playoff games with Toledo, Roanoke and Idaho. He has also played in the AHL with Cincinnati and Utah and has two points (1g-1a) and 36 penalty minutes in 14 career AHL games.
