PRINCETON, N.J. – Mike McKenna of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 19-25, 2007. He becomes the first three-time winner having captured the award for Nov. 13-19 and Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
The St. Louis, Mo. native was 2-0-0 and stopped all 64 shots he faced to record his fourth and fifth shutouts of the season, tying him for the league lead. He helped Las Vegas go 2-0-1 to stay on top of the Pacific Division.
In his second professional season, the 23-year-old stopped all 22 shots he faced in a 5-0 win at Victoria on Feb. 21 and made 42 saves in a 3-0 win at Victoria on Feb. 24. The 42 stops is one off of his season high of 43 saves on Dec. 1 at Idaho and Jan. 6 at Phoenix.
The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound McKenna, who has not allowed a goal in 169:03, is 16-3-6 and leads the ECHL with a goals-against average of 2.14 and a save percentage of .934.
